Your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains what GodScroll collects, how we use and share it, and how we protect it.

GodScroll is operated by GodScroll LLC.

Our privacy commitment: We believe your personal information is sacred. We aim to collect only necessary data, protect it with reasonable security measures, and do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Information collected automatically

• Device information: Device type, operating system, push notification token, and server logs that may include IP addresses and access times.
• Location data: With your permission, to sort and filter nearby events. The app uses your device location only while you use it.
• Sessions: Sign-in tokens and preferences stored on your device.

Sensitive information: Prayer requests and other sensitive information you share, such as health or financial details, are handled with care and shared only as described in this policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide services: Create and maintain your account, process payments, and enable messaging and posting.
• Personalize your experience: Customize content, recommendations, and features based on preferences, interests, and activity. Ads are shown to adults 18+ only and are chosen by placement, not personal information.
• Safety and moderation: Analyze content to help prevent child exploitation, violence, harassment, and illegal activity.
• Spiritual support: Prayer requests are visible to the prayer community. Pastoral care requests are handled by our team by email.
• Improve our platform: Analyze usage data, where possible in aggregate form, to fix bugs and improve features.
• Communication: Send service updates, security alerts, and support messages.
• Legal compliance: Comply with laws, respond to legal requests, and enforce our Terms.

3. How We Share Your Information

Service providers: Google Firebase for sign-in and Firestore; Vibecode Storage for uploaded photos, videos, and audio; Stripe for donations and subscriptions; Resend for account and support emails; Anthropic (Claude) for AI-assisted content checks; Google (Gemini) for translation; and Apple and Google Play for app distribution.

Other sharing: We may disclose information for legal requests, user safety, suspected child exploitation, threats, or illegal activity. If GodScroll is acquired or merged, information may transfer as part of the transaction. We may share relevant information with the pastoral care team. Public profiles and posts are visible to community members, with visibility controlled in Settings.

What we do not do: We do not sell personal, spiritual, health, or prayer-request information to advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use message content for advertising.

4. Children's Privacy

We aim to collect only the information needed to provide services to minors. Accounts require users to be at least 13, while live streaming and advertising are limited to users 18 and older. Users under 18 need parental consent, and some countries set higher minimum ages.

A parent or guardian must approve a minor’s account by email. Ads are shown to adults 18+ only, and we do not use children’s personal information to choose ads. We do not sell children’s personal information or share it except with service providers and parents or guardians. Parents may ask us to review, correct, or delete their child’s information.

Teens ages 13–17 have parental oversight features. Parental controls, approved follower lists, and restrictions are stored in our cloud database. The parent PIN is stored as a salted hash. Parents may update or remove these settings through Settings > Parental Controls.

Message retention: Messages sent by or to users under 18 are kept until deleted. Parents can view them through the PIN-protected Parent Message Monitor. Deleted messages in monitored conversations remain in an archive with no set time limit. A basic device keyword filter checks messages before sending but may not catch all harmful content.

5. Children and Teens

• Minimum age: You must be at least 13 years old to create a GodScroll account.
• Users 13 to 17: An account can be used only after a parent or guardian approves it by email. We send the approval request to the parent's email address. The approval link expires after 7 days. Parents can review their teen's settings and oversight features.
• Adult areas: Live streaming and other adult-only features are available to users 18 and older.
• Messages involving minors: Messages sent by or to users under 18 are kept on our servers until they are deleted. Parents can review them through the PIN-protected Parent Message Monitor. Our AI safety systems scan message content. Message content is not used for advertising or profiling.
• Children's data: We do not use children's personal information to choose ads, and we do not sell it.
• Parent requests: Parents and guardians can ask us to review, correct, or delete their child's information by emailing contact@godscroll.org.
• For more details, see our Child Safety Standards at godscroll.org/child-safety-standards.
